Facebook Epic Fail?

Filed under: Me, myself, and I — acrosstheu @ 9:37 pm

Why is my Facebook page disabled??

Yesterday evening, I decide I need to check my Facebook. So, I go to the homepage, enter my e-mail and password, and press “login.” The next page shows a red box with this print:

Account Disabled

Your account has been disabled. If you have any questions or concerns, you can visit our FAQ page here.

I go to the page it says, and it’s talking about High School Networks, which I’d assumed you didn’t have to use.  So I now am stuck with no Facebook and no way of knowing what happened!

Any help?

SC Wildlife Magazine!

Filed under: Me, myself, and I, Publishing — acrosstheu @ 4:52 pm

So, a few months ago, the editor of South Carolina Wildlife came to my school and talked to the seventh graders during English class. (I was the only person in the whole room who, when asked if they liked to write, raised their hand.) The following day, our teacher gave us an assignment worth two test grades, one for English and one for science: write a magazine article about an endangered animal in South Carolina. Last year, we did something similar in my LAUNCH class (an advanced-kid elective) and I did the bat that time. So this time, I chose a manatee.

The craziest news of all was that one of the articles would get published in SC Wildlife! I worked my butt off for two weeks perfecting my article, and I didn’t find out that I won until a friend of my mom’s called her and said that he’d just gotten his SC Wildlife, and that her daughter had a full-page spread with her article! My teacher had been told to keep it secret, I recently found out in an e-mail from her to my mother. If she hadn’t been gone, staying at home with her new baby, I would’ve blown up the next day at school!

As for now, I will just happy dance, and hope that the publication (and an article about me in my local paper) will increase notice of my book.

(Also: Sorry for the lack of posting lately! It’s nearing the end of school, and the homework is piling up!)

Sickness and lack of video

Filed under: Me, myself, and I — acrosstheu @ 1:02 pm

Sorry for the lackage of posting lately, but it seems I have come down with what John Green calls Tiny Chicken Disease:

It is not fun at all.

Anyway, I would’ve also had a video posted up here as well, but unfortunately, I can’t seem to make it work. Apparently, Windows Movie Maker is extremely picky about what type of videos it accepts and also apparently Adobe Premire Elements does not like sharing.  It’s very screwed up, and I accidentally deleted the video file from my camera. *clap for stupidity*

Hello World!

Filed under: Me, myself, and I — acrosstheu @ 2:56 pm

Hola! Bon jour! Konichiwa! Or, in English: Hi!

Welcome to my little banana blog! Actually, I probabaly won’t talk about bananas much… They’re not very interesting. So, ACTUALLY, this blog has absolutely NOTHING to do with bananas! (Just so you know…) The REAL purpose for this blog is for me to tell my story, the story of a thirteen-year-old girl getting her first book published. This blog will include bits and pieces about my book, about me, and– in the most humorous way possible– the ardous publishing process. So far, I’ve only gotten rejections. =( But I still persist! If there’s one trait I inherited from my mother, it was stubborn determination! I. Will. Never. Give. Up.

Publishers beware, Reagan is in town!

(PS: Sorry about the wierd layout and side panels. The design was too perfectly fitting to give up for a few bugs.)
